Mental Health Awareness Month
The theme this year is 'kindness' and with most of us in lockdown at home and spending many more hours on our screens, it seems even more important than ever to focus on being kind. Always think carefully before hitting that 'Post' button and keep your comments supportive and kind!
There are many out there that are really struggling with the isolation of lockdown, but not wanting to reach out for support, how can you help? Sharing your feelings and experiences on line can help. Its so easy to post images and text boasting how great everything is, but an honest post can really hit home. Speaking out and sharing your stories can help others see that they are not alone in the challenges they face.
The website mind.org.uk have lots of resources to help, including using the #SpeakYourMind hashtag promoting positivity and kindness on line.
Continuing with mental health in mind I've created some pretty silk earrings with a poignant semicolon message on the wings. The semicolon; has become a symbol of hope and strength to many, it symbolises that it's OK to struggle and that it needn't mean the end, just a pause for breath and the continuation of your life's story.
I have chosen a beautiful bright green colour for these butterflies, green symbolises life, renewal, nature, and energy, and is associated with meanings of growth, harmony.
The butterfly is a wonderful reminder that we can all change and that from darkness and pain can come lightness and beauty.
For every pair sold, I shall be donating 50p from the sale to the UK charity
